Digitalization of a sports enclosure with giant LED and iGirouette screens®

Sports arenas, and more particularly football stadiums, can accommodate tens of thousands of spectators for an evening! This high attendance poses several problems to which it is essential to find suitable solutions in order to ensure the smooth running of events.

The first problem is that of the visibility of the screens: stadiums are built to accommodate the largest number of spectators in safety, but they do not always provide an ideal vantage point. The giant screens should allow everyone to follow the game and watch the goal replays while enjoying the atmosphere of the stadium!

The second challenge is that of flow management: when several tens of thousands of people arrive and leave at the same time, it is essential that they be properly oriented and informed in order to avoid massive crowds!

The example of Groupama Stadium

The Groupama Stadium, the bastion of Olympique Lyonnais and the venue for major sporting competitions, is a quality benchmark for Charvet Digital Media! With a capacity of almost 60,000 people, it poses a major challenge.

Our giant LED screens, high definition rendering!

The two screens we have installed are among the largest stadium screens in France! With a resolution of 768 x 448 pixels in pitch of 16 mm, they total 344,064 pixels spread over a display area of 88.5 m²! The installation of these giant screens between March 2014 and November 2015 is further proof of the competence of our technicians.

A true place of life, the Groupama Stadium hosts major sporting competitions such as the Euro Football Championship (2016). Our screens provide optimal visual rendering for the different types of content broadcast by the stadium.

iGirouette tool® for flow management

iGirouette® is street furniture made up of two arrows with a rotating double-sided LED display. This is a dynamic and connected technology that enables the delivery of essential information in real time.

Groupama Stadium is equipped with 12 iGirouettes® distributed in the various strategic places of the stadium in order to guide and direct visitors in the right direction! They allow everyone to easily find their way around and find their place, the toilets, the restaurant or even the exit. Connected, they can easily redirect visitors to another exit or inform them of occasional incidents as needed.

Thanks to our iGirouette® and on our high definition screens, the Groupama Stadium is a true 2.0 connected stadium! A quality partnership that is renewed with the arrival of new technological tools:

• In January 2019: installation of a custom-made indoor screen of 11 m² in the VIP eLOUNGE lounge;
• In June 2019: installation of 7 directional parking screens of 3m² around the enclosure.
